Speculation spiked this week over whether a new owner will breathe new life into the Ladder Creek Helium Plant, owned by Tumbleweed Midstream. Located just outside Cheyenne Wells, CO, the plant was originally designed to produce up to 350 ISOs annually.
Management decisions can affect feedgas development, maintenance, capital allocation, and customer commitments. If confirmed, the change would warrant close attention to Ladder Creek’s operating direction.
So far, no public announcements confirm a transfer of ownership. If it happens, it may come with an overdue investment of additional capital to improve the plant's efficiency. This would encourage the producers to increase feed gas coming to the plant.
The BROOK REPORT will keep its ear to the ground.
Pulsar is back in the news. Wait, are they ever out of the news? Pulsar signed Chart’s helium and carbon dioxide equipment proposal, but the upfront payment remains unconfirmed, exchange approval is outstanding, and further financing and commissioning are required.
Industrial gas suppliers are using stored helium and alternative sources to maintain deliveries, underscoring that production restarts alone cannot immediately restore normal supply.
The university says its new recovery system can recapture more than 85% of helium escaping four NMR magnets, reducing replacement purchases and supply exposure.
Six additional canceled LNG cargoes extend Edison’s disruption into December, reinforcing concern over Qatar’s supply recovery without establishing the volume of helium shipments affected.
Drilling has begun at Aden Dome, moving REV’s helium exploration beyond geological interpretation; commercial significance still depends on confirmed concentrations and sustained flow testing.
Xanadu and Bluefors are developing modular cooling for quantum detectors, potentially replacing large cryoplants; the announcement establishes a development partnership, not demonstrated commercial performance.
QIMC has engaged seismic processing support for its Nova Scotia program; the work may refine drilling targets but does not establish commercial helium deliverability.
